Jeanette Gonzalez-Ballesteros, MS, LPC-S

CLINICAL DIRECTOR | OWNER

Jeanette Ballesteros, a compassionate licensed professional counselor and approved supervisor, is deeply committed to transforming lives through her expertise in mental health treatment. As the proud owner and founder of South Texas Counseling Agency, PLLC, she has established a renowned practice in McAllen, specializing in trauma treatment, couples counseling, and guiding individuals through grief and loss.

Jeanette’s educational journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of Texas Pan American, followed by a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at the same institution in Edinburg, TX. Motivated by her own life experiences, she discovered the power of resolving conflicts through non-adversarial methods, leading to profound healing and meaningful resolutions. Licensed as a professional counselor in 2013 and earning supervisor status in 2016, Jeanette possesses over 15 years of education and training in an integrative clinical approach.

Specializing in EMDR therapy, Jeanette offers highly personalized counseling deeply rooted in scientific research and relational dynamics. She collaborates closely with her clients, co-determining goals and crafting a customized path toward healing. Jeanette’s expertise lies in understanding trauma and its pervasive impact on various aspects of our lives. Her practice thrives in helping individuals and relationships where trauma has left its mark. Notably, Jeanette welcomes clients at different stages of their therapeutic journey, embracing all with her gentle and compassionate approach.

Marla Saenz, MS, LPC

I am licensed in Texas with 4 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, parenting issues, motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I am usually available for sessions in the evenings from Monday through Friday and can help with scheduling when needed. I am here to help with your needs and to help establish goals and ways to help you meet them in order to help you improve in these areas in a timely fashion.

I specialized in the following areas: Stress, Anxiety, Relationships, Parenting issues Self-esteem, Motivation, Coping with life changes. Jackie Pulido, MS, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

I am a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor with over eight years experience in employee assistance programs, community clinics, inpatient facilities, k-12 schools, and private practice. In these positions I have helped diverse clients to set and achieve therapeutic goals by using cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy, solution-focused therapy, and other evidence-based modalities. I hold a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from what was previously the University of Texas Pan American and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Child & Family Studies from Baylor University. I have experience treating depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, relationship issues, behavioral issues, and substance abuse issues. Apart from holding my LPC, I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I provide my clients a safe space where they can be open and honest, without fear of judgment. I enjoy teaching clients to take control of their thoughts and learn new strategies to help achieve long-term success.

Liza Molina, LPC

With five years of experience in the mental health field, I am a licensed professional counselor dedicated to fostering healing and personal growth. I specialize in narrative therapy, person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness techniques, tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of each client. My background includes extensive work in crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, and providing support to individuals during their most challenging moments. I have had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, and adults, helping them navigate life’s complexities and achieve their goals.

Miguel Garza, MS, LPC

Miguel Garza is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience in the mental health field. He earned his Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2011 and has dedicated his career to supporting individuals across the lifespan.

With more than six years of clinical experience, Miguel has worked with toddlers, school-aged children, teenagers, and adults, helping them navigate emotional and behavioral challenges. His areas of focus include depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, crisis intervention, behavioral issues, and couples counseling.

Miguel is trained in a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), allowing him to tailor treatment to meet the unique needs of each client.

In the past year and a half, Miguel has partnered with a certified therapy dog named Comet, who has become an integral part of his therapeutic work. Together, they provide a comforting and supportive environment that enhances the healing process for clients of all ages.

Janneth Alvidrez, MS, LPC-S

Her unique bilingual skills enable her to connect with a diverse range of individuals, breaking down language barriers and fostering a deeper understanding of their needs. Ana holds a master’s degree in counseling gand is dedicated to providing a safe and nonjudgmental space for her clients to explore their thoughts and emotions. Through her work, Ana strives to empower individuals to overcome obstacles, build resilience and lead fulfilling lives.

Nellie Cano, MSW, LCSW

Nellie Cano, LCSW is a bilingual therapist (English/Spanish) with over 15 years of experience in mental health and social work. She creates a safe, supportive space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. Nellie uses a person-centered approach, drawing from evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help individuals navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self-esteem issues, and relationship or family conflicts—with compassion every step of the way.

Hello, I am a bilingual LPC- Associate (English/Spanish) from South Texas. I was born in Laredo, Texas, and raised in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. As a first-generation female and Latina, I have a passion for supporting and enhancing the overall well-being of individuals striving for personal and professional goals & growth. I earned my master’s degree in 2017 from Texas A&M International University in School Counseling. I have worked with children with disabilities in the school setting for 8 years and asa  School Counselor for 3 years. I am looking forward to continuing to support mental health in and outside of the school systems, especially in the areas where I have extensive experience, such as ADHD, ED/Behavior, Anxiety, Learning Disabilities, School Issues, and Career.

Melissa Rodriguez, M.Ed.
